Naturally, you would want your new home to be safe and comfortable in addition to all the features and amenities you may like to have. You may not know but you’re probably looking for a “cleaner” and “greener” home.
Whether buying a new home or old home, these 2 things are highly recommended if you want to live in a “greener” home:
- Energy Audit: Energy audit is usually not a part of a general home inspection. Energy auditor can check the insulations, duct issues and/or air leaks around windows and doors. It will results with recommendations to make the house more energy efficient.
- Air Quality Inspection: Indoor air quality can have a significant effect on the health of inhabitants both human and animals. Especially if any of the family members have respiratory issues, make sure to have the air quality tested for substances such as mold, formaldehyde, VOC., etc. It is also important that the house has an effective ventilation and/or air filtration system!
If you clear these two areas, you’ll be ahead of the game for healthy home!
